Author's Note: I wrote this article a day after former AFP Chief of Staff Angelo Reyes decided to end his life. Before you read it, bear in mind that this is my opinion. You are free to agree or disagree with me, but negative comments are not welcome. Thank you.
Let me begin with this statement, “HOW INSENSITIVE CAN YOU GET??”
And this goes out not to the late Angelo Reyes, but to those people who have been insensitive enough to take time and post on their websites how much he deserves it.
Seriously?
We may not be related, but despite all the allegations that have been put up against him that made him end his life, I feel sorry for him. It’s not that I’m taking his side so don’t give me that “You have got to be kidding me” crap. I don’t know the whole story, and you guys don’t know what really happened, so who are you to judge him? No one knows the real story except him and everyone else who are involved. He ended his life today. “He’s totally guilty”, is what you all say. But is he really? My only point is that a life was taken today. A brokenhearted wife is anguished over her husband’s death; sons and daughters are mourning for the loss of their beloved father; a family is grieving for losing someone they truly cherish. So now tell me, does he really deserve to die?
My prayers and deepest condolences go out to him and his family.
I made this post because of this certain photo that has been spreading like wildfire in the internet. Apparently, some inconsiderate jerk took the time to take a photo of the crime scene and posted it on the internet. Are you guys really that emotionally deranged? How could you be so insensitive? How could you do that to his family? Imagine the reaction of his children when they go online and see the blood that was their father’s circulating around the internet. Put yourself in their position. What would you do? What would you feel? Will you just brush it off and ignore all the unfeeling comments from people you don’t even know? How will you feel if that was your father? Or any member of your family for that matter…
Grow up people. It’s not just about money, it’s not just about fame and fashion, it’s not just about power. It’s about life and living it to the fullest. It’s about giving importance to the things you most cherish: your family, your friends, your LIFE. Be sensitive enough to know the consequences of your actions.
THINK BEFORE YOU ACT.
