BANANA-VENTURES
Over the weekend, our house has been overflowing with bananas. Yes, bananas. Don't ask me why cuz I don't know either. At first I was beyond delighted cuz it's one of my favorite fruits, but then they got black and smelly, I can't even. There are still a few that looks kind of ok, so before they rot and get wasted, I decided to come up with something "creative" and "edible" out of the bananas. Thus the start of my "Banana-Ventures".
Last Monday, one of our helpers decided to do some experimenting in the kitchen and made overcooked eggs and with dehydrated tomatoes. Ick. I'm not a fan of eggs, you see. So with a heavy heart and an empty stomach, I scourged our kitchen for something worth-eating. And there I found them: FRIEND BANANAS.
So... Fried Bananas... Rice... Fried Bananas and Rice?
What do you do with fried bananas? Just eat them as it is? Sure, but it's too boring and bland for breakfast. But then a remembered watching this certain video. This guy's gramps would always make him eat banana with everything. Even rice. They say it helps with digestion or something. Haha. So out of curiosity, I tried to look for some rice. Thank God our helper made some fried rice! So there I was enjoying my plateful of fried bananas and fried rice. My stomach was happy!

Warning for the choosy ones cuz you might not like it. It doesn't look too appetizing to begin with. We all know you never eat fruits with rice. NEVER. But I was hungry, so whatevs. Haha. It doesn't taste that good at the first bite, as a matter of fact, but you'll get used to it. Eventually. And a little reminder: Never eat Fried Bananas with plain white or brown rice. Trust me. It tastes weird and their texture is gag-inducing. So remember: FRIED BANANAS = FRIED RICE.
The next morning, our helper must've felt bad cuz her overcooked eggs with dehydrated tomatoes wasn't a hit, so she decided not to cook breakfast. Great! What I saw on the table were a few sandwich spreads, bread, Nutella, oranges, and the BANANAS. And this immediately came to mind:
BANANAS + NUTELLA + BREAD = A BaNutella Sandwich!

And believe me, it was heavenly! It was so good I had three servings of it. Haha!
Later that afternoon, I got hungry (as always) and decided to make some more of those BuNutella Sandwiches. But when I opened the jar there were ants inside it! There's no way I'm going to eat that. So there I was scourging the fridge for a good substitute. When I saw the almost-empty peanut butter jar and a maple syrup. I heard bananas taste good with peanut butter. Why not give it a try, right? And I have to say that it's good! I kinda liked it. It's healthier than Nutella anyway. Haha.

The next day, I was devastated when I saw that we were running low on our banana supplies. The horror! Somebody must have gotten jealous of my current fixation and decided to make a banana-venture of their own. Haha! Not wanting to be outdone, I took the remaining bananas and made my own Saging con Yelo.
What's a Saging con Yelo, you ask? It's a yummy Filipino dessert which is famous during summer. It's very easy to do and certainly a treat for your sweet tooth.

And that, my friends, marks the end of my banana-ventures. I don't think I would be eating bananas for a while since my tummy's been acting kind of weird for days now. Haha. That's what you get for being a glutton. Haha.
Anyhoo, that's it for now. Hope I made you guys smile!
Later loves!
