...on soulmates

I've believed in soulmates since I was in high school. I have always believed in serendipity, in destiny, and in finding your one true love. Happily-ever-afters are a big bonus to that. As cheesy as it may sound or as I may seem, I still do not believe in love at first sight.

When I was a kid, I used to wonder who my knight in shining armor is. I would often daydream about him; what he's wearing, his attitudes, even his social status (haha). But the weird thing is, my prince doesn't have a face. It's just one make up too-good-to-be-true man without a face.

I also used to count 100 yellow cars. Someone once told me that if you count up to a hundred cars, the first man that you will bump into is your soulmate. And after counting a hundred yellow cars, the first man that I bumped into was a hobo. I did that for so many times until I finally gave up.

Now that I'm all grown up and in a relationship, those shiny yellow cars doesn't seem so important to me. I still smile (and cringe) at the sight of yellow cars, but they're just cars, nothing more.

I've learned that once you've found the one who's meant for you, there's really no need or no reason for you to look around. You're happy. And everything just comes together. I may look at other men, and my boyfriend may look at other women, but in terms of fooling around or wanting to be with anyone else, it doesn't even comes into my head.

But some people just can't find true love. Well not right away, that is. So if you can't maintain or stay in a serious and long-term relationship, just get out of it. You or your partner may probably get hurt, but at least you did it the right way.

Don't forget to smile! :)
-XOXO-
