Before I start, I just want to say that this entry is not about how glad I am that La Salle won over the Ateneo yesterday (though I truly am blissful). I just want to… uhmn… defend (well not really. Defend is such a strong word), I just want to have a say about all those issues that have aroused from yesterdays game. No, I am not looking for a fight. I just want to express my opinion regarding this matter.
Many Ateneans (and non-Ateneans as well) have been saying that La Salle cheated. Wth? Don’t you think that’s a very tough accusation? We all know how good the Archers are. I’m not saying that the Eagles aren’t, k? They are good, but the fact that DLSU won yesterday clearly proves who’s better. And IF they cheated, which I really doubt, then they shouldn’t have lost any game at all. Kase diba, sabi nga ng iba: “Kung mandadaya ka lang, sagarin mo na!” Right? We are Lasallians, and we have CORE VALUES.
Another thing, a lot of people have been making fun of La Salle after the DLSU Pep Squad have misspelled the university’s name (ALSALLE). At least you’d still know it’s LA SALLE. Try ATENEO: TAENEO. Pfft! Now which is worse? O wait, baka may napipikon na. Sige let’s try the other universities para fair: UP = PU, UE = EU, UST = SUT, ADAMSON = DAAMSON, CEU = ECU, NU = UN. Happy?
What else… Oh yeah, about that banner with the school rankings. I really don’t have much to say about that. The banner says it all. But still, I can’t find any reason why guys have to be pissed about it. I mean, it doesn’t matter if you’re the 3rd or 4th best school, what matters is that you’re one of the best. Didn’t you ever try looking at it that way?
You know what, whatever. Just scratch all those things I’ve said earlier. I mean, come on people, ITS JUST A GAME! It’s not like your school’s going to lose its credibility if they lose. Don’t even try connecting it with academics cuz it seriously has no connection. NONE.
