Last month, I started reading No Greater Love by Danielle Steel who, by the way, is one of my favorite authors. Her books never fail to be included in the New York Time’s Bestsellers. So anyway, I stopped reading it when I reached Chapter 4. I was always debating with myself whether or not I should continue reading it cuz the story really hurts to the core. Believe me. It was about a rich family who went to England to visit their Mum’s sister. They went home on board the Titanic… you know what happened next. The ship sank, parents died, 5 children became instant orphans. Their eldest sister, 20, served as their Mum. The other kids were still minors. Good thing they were filthy rich or else they’d probably end up living in the slums. The story was so heart-breaking. I’m still intrigued on what’ll happen to them next, but I can’t make myself read it again cuz I seriously think that their condition gets worse every time I turn the page. The feeling was worse than what I felt when I was reading New Moon.
I am currently reading Falling Leaves by Adeline Yen Mah, and boy was I sad. I couldn’t believe the misfortune that had happened to their family when their father died. Adeline’s Mum died a few days after she was born, and her father died soon after. Could you just imagine the pain that she felt, not to mention the cruelties of their step mom? Hai… I’m not done with the book yet. I promised myself that I would finish it. After that, I’m planning to read Chinese Cinderella, also by Adeline Yen Mah.
Di ako mahilig sa books noh? Ehe. I remember telling my Mum, “Gift me with books rather than other worldly things cuz its way better than those.” She just laughed. I dunno if she took that seriously. I’m not even sure if she heard it. Haha! :p
Oh wait, another highly-recommended book: Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. Be sure to also get a copy of its sequel, New Moon. I think it’ll have another sequel, and I have a feeling na “Dawn” ung title. See the logic? Hehe. So far, those two are my favorite books. Sadly, I don’t have my own copy yet. I just borrowed Raf’s.
That's it for now. Later loves :)
