Janet showed this article to me. At first I did not agree with the facts but after reading it for the second time I changed my mind.
What do you think? Do you agree with Shumley?
Can Men and Women Be Friends?
Oprah & Friends XM Radio host Rabbi Shmuley Boteach talks about his ground rules for platonic relationships between men and women.

Can men and women be "just friends," or is sexual attraction between the sexes always inevitable? According to Rabbi Shmuley, men and women can be friends with members of the opposite sex, as long as they follow certain rules. He talks about platonic friendship between the sexes and shares his ground rules for opposite-sex friendships outside of marriage.
If a person isn't married, Rabbi Shmuley says it's perfectly all right to have friends who are members of the opposite sex. Society has moved away from polarizing the sexes, and today, men and women work together, go to school together and should be able to be friends, he says.
Things are different if you are married, Rabbi Shmuley says. It is possible to have an opposite sex friendship, but you cannot compromise certain borders:
1. You can't go out to late night dinners together. You can have lunch together in a public place, but you should not order alcoholic beverages. "The embers of attraction really can grow in situations like that, and suddenly it's not so innocent, it's not just friendship anymore," Rabbi Shmuley says.
2. You can't take long drives or long flights with the other person, even if it's for work. "Even if you have to work with a colleague [of the opposite sex], there are still certain boundaries you need to preserve," he says.
3. You cannot place yourself in any situation where romance can grow. "Romance grows when people are alone; romance grows when people tell secrets," Rabbi Shmuley says.
4. You can't share secrets with a platonic male or female friend that you don't share with your spouse. "Because then you're sharing an exclusivity with a member of the opposite sex that you're not with your partner, and that can lead to a big no-no," he says.
5. You should not be friends with ex-lovers.
#1 Prom: Our gorgeous client, Jasmine, in a jazzy headband and black prom dress. Too prom?
#2. Chanel: Black and White striped Moschino 80's Inspired Dress with headband above and black booties/boots. A young and hip Chanel look? Dress found at my website.
#3. Flapper: Flapper inspired BCBG dress with black feathers and sequins. The picture doesn't do the dress justice and Jasmine would fill it out nicely. This would be cute with Jasmine's black and white 40's inspired headband from picture #1. Too much??? Dress found on my website.
#4. 80's Rock: Black flirty layered high waisted skirt, fun belt, black fedora hat and tight 80's spandex top. All items found on e-bay from Mama Stone Vintage. Cute 80's inspired outfit with a bit of rock in roll.

#6. Rock n' Roll: Basic black flirty layered skirt at $25 with basic $30 white top. The Lanvin necklace really is a killer. But, I found a similar type of necklace to Loehmann's for $25. I have a similar type belt on my website.

Although I didn't exactly lost it. I dropped it the other day inside B's car -- when he was incessantly tickling me. And yeah, he thinks someone already took it.
I'm just so sad right now. I tried buying a new one this afternoon, but none of those other mechanical pencils got my attention like my old pink one did. :(
*sigh* I'm just feeling really gloomy.
Hope I could buy a new pen, or better yet, wish I could find my pink pen.

Its reported that PPQ, the London label is collaborating with a new style icon on their latest collection: singer Amy Winehouse. The line will consist of high-end items heavily influenced by the Grammy award winner's own distinctive style, which gained her the title of Muse to Chanel's Karl Lagerfeld. Whether you are or aren't a fan of Amy's wardrobe, I'm sure this range of clothes will rock!

On a kinda-lighter-but-still-school-related note…
This is the first term for this school year. That means… TONS OF NEW STUDENTS! I swear, our school I brimming with minors it's not even funny. Frosh students can be a little exasperating sometimes. Don't get me wrong, I've been a frosh once, but I doubt that my batch was as rowdy as this one.
So yesterday while I was waiting for B, I tried observing some frosh students and comparing them to the old 'uns. And I came up with a list on how you can spot a frosh student. If you're a Lasallite/Benildean, you'll know what I mean.

A term used to refer to first year Lasallite/Benildean students.

Weird, but true. Visit our school and see for yourself. Haha.

Mom and Dad, Shirley and Jim, getting hitched in Vegas May 27, 1972. They dated a year and a half before Dad came around. Mom says she chased him until he finally caught her. There are a few wild tales from their courting times. Dad walking down the street with broad (ha.. ha..) and Mom jumping out of the VW while it was still running... down the street. Dang... And, another episode of Mom going through a window in his apartment to shred all his work ties.
Dad proposing over a couple of drinks on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend while they were partying with a few couples. My Mom's girlfriend telling Dad that's not a funny thing to joke around about getting married. My Dad was a joker. A few more drinks, calling a sitter, and a frenzy of packing and driving to Vegas. Mom driving frantically to Vegas while Dad was passed out (too many drinks Daddy?) and hoping he wouldn't change his mind when he woke from his obvious drunken stupor. Dad having to pull Mom away from the 5 cent slots to get married. How my beautiful Mother had dirty hands from the coins as they exchanged vows. Oh, what a fairy tale it is...
I have three things to say:
1. Dad, couldn't you see she was crazy? You should have RUN while you could! You had your chance. You get NO sympathy now!
2. Mom, where Ken and I in the VW as it went down the street with no driver? I bet anything the answer is yes. These days, Mom would be put in the slammer for such a stunt. But, hey, those were the 70's. That's when I sat on the car floor since there wasn't a passenger seat. (Does anyone worry how we survived? Reminds me of that e-mail about how did we all survive the 70's )
3. Nice curly mustache Dad. How very Tom Selleck of you.
So, they have obviously worked out their differences in lifestyle choices, united, raised a couple of kids, lived the great suburban life and still talk& laugh after 38 1/2 of being together. They make it look easy. Ken and I love you both very much!!!! Thanks for being the best parents and grandparents for our kids that any son or daughter could image. Kiss... Kiss...
So, be careful this weekend! Don't do anything MY PARENTS would do!!!
