Dressing the Part

sOO for my first post i decided to write about dressing the part for special events and how to take the same outfit and convert it into something you can wear later that night with a few couple tweaks and make it work, ill be posting pictures tmrw after i figure out how to do it on my phone lol.
I have a wedding reception tommorow morning were ill be helping out a friend doing hair and makeup, and after ill be going to a bboy battle, for my ladies who dont know what that is its a breakdancing event..so ive been thinking about what to wear and what will be more comfy because ill be out all day, but still look professional, stlyish, and super cute, tonz of cute boys will be there and from the last event i went to, alll the girls looked like they were trying to hard to be "hip hop" lol some younger girls were totally wearing those fitted caps with the diamonds in different colors all over, flare pants, skate shoes, oversized sweaters..come on girl...no guys think thats cute.

sooooo. okay. i am planning to wear a black skinny jeans, (forever21) some mary jane pumps (charrlotte russe) and some gold jewelry, now for the top i was thinking a lace top in sheer with a cami underneath, no necklace..some earings and a bracelet, and have my nails painted..i cant stand when girls do too much with jewelry...i think you should do a combo of two pieces so you dont look over done for any event, and to switch it up for the bboy event, i think ill change the top only..i havent exactly decided to what but i want it to be a little more casual but still feminie..i think when girls see that they will stop trying to blend in with the boys haha. okay so ill be posting pictures tomorrow but the top will be the only thing i will be changing.
The trick to changing wardrobe for events is to keep in mind the dress code..in this case im going from proffesional to more laid back so i can still keep the femininity intact to stay true to my style as far as jeans and heels but the color pallet is what helps set the tone thats always super imortant you never want to underdress when self promoting..YOUR IMAGE SELLS YOU. and as for changing into the more casual side..something a little more loose with maybe a change in shade still in the same dark color family will keep everything tied together!

yours truley, LolA.
